What you need to know about Shigaraki
The traditions of Shigaraki ware are still passed down today, and there are many manufacturers that make industrial pottery and traditional crafts, as well as many people who work as potters.
In terms of tourism, there is the MIHO Museum, Shigaraki Ceramic Cultural Park, Shigaraki Traditional Industry Hall, and the Kiln Walk, which retains the atmosphere of a pottery town from long ago. There are also regular pottery sales events, and at the end of July, a fire festival is held where torches are dedicated to the Ceramic Shrine.
