on July 25th, I gave a tour of Shigaraki to some people involved in ceramics in Hangzhou, China, introduced to me by a professor at a China Academy of Art I have an acquaintance with.

This time, I mainly visited two traditional artists who fire their works in wood-fired kilns.

After the tour, we had a Q&A session in the SSS gallery, where they asked a variety of questions, from "the current state of Shigaraki " and "traditional crafts" to "technical aspects of ceramics." I think I was able to give a very detailed "guide to Shigaraki."

Putting words aside, I strongly felt that we share a common language “ceramics”.
